Project Background.
Situated in the beautiful Island Bay area, this stunning contemporary home sits nestled on a hill slope. The owners were after a warmer, drier & healthier home - so they settled for a better building system, Formance SIPs.
This home showcases an entire structure from SIPs, including the floor, walls, and ceiling, ensuring optimum results in energy efficiency, quietness, comfort, and health.
Small yet sophisticated
Despite a relatively simple and compact design, the cleverness of this home is laid out inside, with how thermally efficient it is. The home consists of a kitchen and living area, bathroom, laundry, and two bedrooms all in a footprint of 80m2.
A bonus of the home's location is the beautiful view over the surrounding Island Bay area. Large windows at the front face of the home take advantage of these views and the sunshine.
Wondering what results you'll get from building with the Formance?
Making the change from sticks to SIPs alone can see your energy use to at least half. Just a few small changes such as adding thermally broken windows and a ventilation system can get your home to over 75% higher in energy efficiency.
