Can SIPs be modified on site?

At Formance, precision and accuracy is one of our core aims in the production process. Our Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) are meticulously engineered and manufactured to your exact specifications, minimising the need for on-site modifications in most building projects.

However, we understand that construction sites are dynamic environments, and unforeseen circumstances can arise. The good news is that yes, SIPS can usually be modified on-site if absolutely necessary.

Our panels are made accurately based on our shop drawings, which we create from the finalised architectural drawings, and whilst this keeps onsite adjustments to a minimum, there might be situations where minor tweaks are required. In such cases, we can provide you with the necessary tools specifically designed for SIPs, like a hot knife gun that allows you to remove EPS without making a mess on site.
